Last week, members of the Mass LIFT-AmeriCorps program came to camp for teambuilding and service programs. During a stop at the farm, several participants expressed curiosity about the pile of plants drying on the greenhouse tables. These plants are a Cape Cod specialty: Eastham turnips, one of just two vegetables with documented cultural history on the Cape. Once we process these plants to extract the seeds, we will be excited to share seeds with other organizations doing food and farm programs — including some Mass LIFT partners — as well as seed lending libraries throughout the county.
