From the very beginning, the barn at Burgess Farm was designed to be a multi-purpose space. The vision was of livestock watching campers build new creations in the wood shop, baa-ing along to music during dances, and sleeping peacefully during nighttime movie showings in the loft. This winter, we’ve come one step closer to the vision: the sheep are in the barn! The wooly critters love the extra indoor space where they have more space to roam during inclement weather, and their section of the barn opens straight into an outdoor pen where they can enjoy the sunshine on warmer days. To make things even more exciting, we’re expecting a new addition (or two!) later this month — next time you’re at the farm, stop by to sneak a peek at this year’s lambs!
Speaking of sheep, check back with the Fresh from the Farm blog in two weeks to learn more about the process of going from “sheep to scarf”!
